TEA? NAH! STUPID? YES!

BY RANDY WALTERS

In reading the WHAS poll results one conclusion became obvious: There are a great many people being surveyed who are so stupid they need to have their citizenship papers pulled. I am referring to the group the survey called “TEA Party supporters.”
In trying to understand the failure of Kentucky’s education system one only has to read the WHAS poll. It is not logical that anyone who proclaims to support, be a part of, or participate in anything remotely TEA could say they were for David Williams.
I am begging you to stop using TEA to describe your political views as you are surely confused, and you are embarrassing not only yourself, but TEA as well. In other words, you are either stupid or just kidding yourself.
The only person running for governor who espouses TEA principles is Phil Moffett. Any other choice is the equivalent of saying “I’m a Communist, but I believe in Capitalism.” It’s oil and water. David Williams is no more in line with TEA values than Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid, and your choice of Williams in a poll shows that you really don’t have a grip on what’s going on.
Another example of this confusion becomes obvious when people like Sean Hannity bitch and moan over the rapper “Common” being at the White House. Any of these so called “Conservative, TEA Party value” humping radio, television or internet preachers who protest such things have lost their minds.
Hey, TEA means, among other things, observance of the Constitution of the United States. Did they read it? Maybe, but it’s for damn sure they did not understand it. The first Amendment is so clearly written it makes it hard for this writer to understand how anyone could be confused of its meaning. “….Freedom of Speech…” I know it’s in there, I remember reading it, over and over out of admiration for its simplicity. “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”Now, you might disagree, and you have that right, but to disagree with what “Common” says in his songs, or that the president had him as a guest at the White House for a recital is to say you just don’t understand freedom of speech, or you really don’t believe in it. Which is it?
It’s pretty much the same thing as saying you are a TEA Party supporter or member and you’re for David Williams. It is just stupid, and according to John Wayne “You can’t fix stupid.”
There are so many other issues to be discussed that bringing up “Common” at the White House indicates either a lack of intelligence on the part of the people making the noise, or it shows their true feelings of “Do as I say, not as I do.”
Another possibility is distraction. Are the people on the right so gullible as to allow themselves to be led to complaint about a rapper to the point of lessening the more serious issues facing the United States? It resembles the tail wagging the dog which could be what’s happening.
I would suggest from now on if you are asked anything about the TEA Party you utilize your Fifth Amendment right to not incriminate yourself. “I am now invoking my right to not incriminate myself as I have no earthly idea what TEA means, nor do I have any knowledge of the candidates in this race, but I will vote as I always do my patriotic duty.”
No, you’re patriotic duty would actually require you to know something about the candidates other than what party they proclaim to represent. The informed voter is not going to vote for David Williams on a logical basis. The informed voter may be intimidated by Williams, or be so blinded by Richie Farmer’s basketball prowess in years past, but the choice will not be one based on logic. Williams is so much a part of Kentucky’s financial mess it would be erroneous to think things would get better with him governor’s seat.
Williams is not TEA, nor are those people who proclaimed to be while saying they support him. Understand this, there is only one person of TEA quality running for governor, Phil Moffett. Yes, money has been a problem for Phil in this race, but he can say he doesn’t take money from convicted felons who were caught up in vote fraud conspiracy.
The true TEA Party followers demand a much higher standard in morals, ethics, and principles than David Williams will ever be able to claim with proof. His downfall on those issues is written in his record, at least the parts that have not been erased.
