Reid and Durbin within 180 degrees

Senators Harry Reid of Nevada and Dick Durbin of Illinois are within 180 degrees of being right in their assessment of the TEA Party’s social agenda. The two blamed the TEA Party for the trouble in the budget negotiations this past week as if it were a giant holding them hostage.
Our two distinguished senators call it the “Extreme social agenda of the TEA Party,” and in a way they might be considered right. They are referring to the federal funding of Planned Parenthood which is doing abortions, and the money going the EPA which is reigning terror on the nation through their environmental policy.
The TEA Party will agree with them that the problem has been a social agenda, but it’s Reid, Durbin, and Obama’s social agenda we are being forced to fund with our tax dollars, and that’s the problem. The TEA Party and other conservative groups just do not agree they should pay for something with which they disagree.
In times past the liberal Democrats and immoral Republicans would have been able to slide this stuff by in their political back scratching ways of porking projects and programs to help in their reelections. In case you haven’t noticed, times are changing.
There is a greater awareness of the way things are done in Washington and state capitals all across this great nation, and that awareness is what led to the pressure being put on the Republicans to not accept a token spending cut such as the one offered by Obama.
Still, the Republicans put off standing up to the liberal spending agenda until the debt ceiling talks coming up in May. How they will revert to their cowardly ways at that time remains to be seen, but rest assured they will resist logic if they can.
It will be a really tough time for legislators as they will have to devise a way to prove themselves worthy in the eyes of the hand out world. This in the face of growing taxpayer demands for them to stop the madness before it destroys us. It will be like trying to taking drugs from a jones’n socialist junkie.
The Democrats have already started trying to cushion their stance by saying the Republicans don’t care about women’s health or the air we breathe. You can bet there will be other issues of human cruelty leveled as more social cupcakes are pulled from the government menu.
In a perfect world things could have been different, but the politicians ruined it by going overboard in a giveaway orgy of crooked deals, despot funding foreign aid, and vote buying social programs for those who were ever so willing to take advantage.
Our hopes depend on the continued perceived strength of the TEA Party and other grassroots organizations. If we continue to elect those who reflect our beliefs, our property, and our way of life it could actually work itself out. If we let up for even a minute the liberals will smell blood and move in for the kill.
To expect any help from the establishment Republicans or the so called Blue Dog Democrats would be too great a risk. The proof of their feelings towards their fellow counterparts was made obvious by the kiss fest held on national television between Sen. McConnell, Senator Reid, and President Obama after the agreement was reached in this last go around.
